Eligibility and acceptance
You must be at least 16 years old to create an Alongside account. By creating an account or using cloud/social features, you confirm that you are 16+ and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may stop using the service and remove local data from your device.
What Alongside provides
Alongside is a private reciprocal accountability and support utility. It helps people make commitments, close check-in loops, share selected updates, and exchange limited contextual support. It is not a medical, mental-health, emergency, financial, or professional advice service. Availability and features may change as the product develops.
User conduct
You may not use Alongside to threaten, harass, exploit, impersonate, stalk, defraud, discriminate against, or endanger another person; share illegal, sexually exploitative, non-consensual, hateful, or graphic content; violate privacy or intellectual-property rights; distribute malware or spam; evade blocks; or interfere with the service.
Invitations and active support roles must be consensual. Do not use Nudges, Asks, replies, or Need Support signals to pressure, monitor, or manipulate another person.
Your content
You keep ownership of content you create. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and share it. You give Bora Technologies a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, resize, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Alongside in accordance with your sharing choices and the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you share and for selecting the correct audience. Do not upload information you do not have permission to disclose.
Safety, reports, and moderation
You can leave a commitment, remove a connection, block a person, or report a person or content. We may review reports, restrict access, remove content, preserve evidence where legally required, or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users or enforce these Terms. There is no proactive automatic content-moderation engine in the MVP.
Alongside is not monitored as an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person nearby.
Accounts and security
Keep your device and authentication methods secure. Do not share OTPs, tokens, or review credentials. Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable safeguards.
Ending use and deletion
You may stop using Alongside at any time. Account deletion has a 7-day recovery window followed by permanent deletion as described on the account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, legal requirements, or security risks.
Disclaimers and responsibility
Alongside is provided on an “as available” basis. We work to provide a reliable and secure service, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that another person will respond, follow through, or provide appropriate support. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to the iOS app where required.
